About Raceview Soccer Club
Raceview Soccer Club started in the 1973 season. We are one of the longest continually active community soccer clubs in Ipswich. Our club has a proud history over the years of providing an opportunity for our players to enjoy their football experience on and off the fields and our supporters on the sidelines have made lifelong friendships.
We are a club full of volunteers who give their time to coach and manage teams, run our canteen, and provide top quality facilities to train and play at. And because we are a community run club with volunteers, we can keep our playing fees reasonable so that cost is not a barrier to people playing at Raceview.
Our home ground is the Norm Rule fields at 30b Grange Road Silkstone. We have competition teams for girls and boys from under 6 through juniors to senior men and women teams and overage mens teams. We also run a Tiny Tots program for those 3- and 4-year-old girls and boys who are looking for a activity based football experience.
Our playing season usually starts from March with finals in September. Online sign on starts from 1 November for the following season. We do have a face to face sign on day at the end of January.
Matches are on Saturdays with junior ages in the morning and senior ages in the afternoon. Over 30 and over 40 age groups play Friday nights.
We rely heavily on volunteer parents for as coaches and managers. We do organise for our coaches various coaching courses to develop their skills. These volunteer coaches will be coaching our junior teams. Some Senior Teams have allocated Coaches to assist with training.
Training times are allocated after team formation and grading. Considerable effort is put into accommodating player’s preferred training times and locations. Wherever possible new players are put into existing teams where they maybe a vacancy or they have mates in that team.
